SocialResponsibility

From the natural world we enjoy exploring to the community of people who share our love of wide open expanses, travel adventures, and stories shared around the campfire, Airstream is committed to preserving and protecting what we cherish most.

More Than Just an RV

Our Purpose

We value our place in the diverse outdoor community and embrace our responsibility to the people and places that shape it. Our purpose is to bring people together through exploration and adventure, and we work to honor our commitments to both nature and travelers—at the factory, on the road, and at the campsite.

A Heritage of Care and Preservation

Built to Endure

That commitment is reflected in every Airstream ever built. Our founder, Wally Byam, created a company dedicated to sustainability decades before the concept was mainstream. Our products have always been built to last using durable materials and top-notch craftsmanship. Our ever-evolving design creates vehicles that are both visually iconic and eco-friendly.

A Culture of Quality and Commitment

From Ohio to The World

The passion that drives Airstream lives in our people, from the skilled craftspeople who build each unit to everyone who helps bring an Airstream from wish list to driveway. We value this team and support them through training, growth opportunities, and community efforts in Jackson Center.

A More Satisfying Way to Travel

Access to Adventure

Airstream is strengthening its commitment to making outdoor adventure open and welcoming to everyone. We recognize that prejudice and inequality still prevent many people from feeling safe or at ease in natural spaces. And we’re working to determine how Airstream can best use its resources and influence to help ensure that all people feel welcome.

A Commitment to the Environment

Sustainable Materials

We are constantly working to further minimize the environmental impact of the Airstream manufacturing process. Airstream’s facilities in Jackson Center, Ohio, are 100%-powered by renewable energy. Airstream purchases renewable energy from wind, hydroelectric, or landfill gas projects offered through American Municipal Power, Inc.

Infographic on sustainable manufacturing: 100% renewable energy, 8,084 metric tons of CO2 avoided, 20.5M fewer miles driven, 8,108 acres forest sequestered.

Powered by Renewable Energy

Starts at Home

We’re committed to responsible outdoor stewardship by supporting clean energy. In 2024, renewable power helped us offset 8,084 metric tons of CO2. We use efficient lighting and machinery, build with long‑lasting materials, recycle most production leftovers, and work to cut non‑recyclable waste. We’re also pursuing a zero‑waste‑to‑landfill goal.

Text displaying recycled materials: 20 tons plastic, 27 styrofoam, 18 copper, 127 steel, 343 cardboard, 322 pallets, 1,265 aluminum. Total: 2,122 tons.

Conserving, Reducing, Innovating

Efficient Operations

The Jackson Center factory is cutting its environmental impact with energy‑efficient upgrades like LED lighting, variable‑speed compressors, and improved insulation. A strong water‑recycling system supports conservation. Each Airstream is sprayed with 10,000 gallons during leak testing, and all water is captured, filtered, and reused in a closed loop.

Solar Panel Options

For years, solar panels have been popular optional features on Airstream products. But as the desire to get farther afield gains traction, Airstream has responded with more solar panel options, state-of-the-art technology, and larger battery systems to store that green energy.

Generations of Adventure

You’ll be hard-pressed to ever find an Airstream in a landfill. Durable materials, intentional design, expert engineering, and skilled craftspeople come together to build RVs that stand the test of time. From the chassis up to its aerodynamic curves, your shiny aluminum Airstream is as green as it is silver.

Caravan to Carbon Neutral

Through an innovative partnership with the National Forest Foundation, Airstream offsets the carbon footprint of every new Airstream. For every new Airstream manufactured in Jackson Center, the NFF plants enough trees to offset the carbon produced while traveling through the first year of ownership.

Airstream Aerodynamics

The aerodynamic, aluminum shell reduces drag on the highway, helping tow vehicles get better mileage. In controlled tests versus traditional box trailers measuring constant average speeds, tow vehicles that pulled Airstreams were more than twice as fuel efficient as tow vehicles pulling box trailers.
