Wally Byam
Wally Byam was born on the Fourth of July, 1896, with a passion for travel and adventure in his heart. He built the first Airstream with his own hands and in the process created a conduit for pursuing your wanderlust, fostered a like-minded community.

Aerodynamic Exterior
Airstream’s patented aerodynamic, low-profile shape naturally delivers low wind resistance, creates less draft, and offers a more comfortable towing experience. Side winds are reduced as well, with sway almost unnoticeable even in heavy winds. The sleek shape means a tow vehicle’s fuel efficiency can be improved up to 20% over similarly-sized travel trailers.

Seamless Composite Flooring
In Model Year 2021, Airstream travel trailers transitioned to using pre-cut, waterproof, recyclable composite flooring in towable products.This state-of-the-art composite plastic flooring is engineered for firmness under foot, strength, and screw retention.

Simple, Confident Towing
Each wheel has its own suspension, and the premium rubber torsion axle absorbs fifty percent more road vibration than industry-standard leaf springs, minimizing road shock transferred to the body of the trailer. This allows for a more stable towing experience. And because each axle is independent, dual-axle models can be towed short distances even with a flat tire.
