The eStream Travel Trailer

With 900 watts of solar power capability and a battery bank that delivers more than 30 times the power of the largest Lithium battery system in an Airstream today, the eStream concept travel trailer is Airstream's first fully-electric conceptual design. The eStream works with the tow vehicle to extend the range and can be fully remote controlled.

Garageable, Sleek, and Carbon Fiber

Studio F. A. Porsche Concept

The Airstream Studio F. A. Porsche Concept Travel Trailer was conceived in a “What If” design between Airstream and Studio F. A. Porsche. The legendary design studio was challenged to envision a next-gen Airstream trailer while coloring inside the lines of Airstream’s design playbook. The result is a lightweight, garageable design that addresses the changing world.

A Vision of the Motorized Future

BMW Motorhome Concept

In 2003, Airstream executives met with BMW to sketch out a concept for a new Class A Motorhome. The motorhome was designed with an aluminum shell, rounded corners, and streamlined form. Due to a shift in the market in the mid-2000s, the project never came to fruition, but the scale model lives on as a testament to Airstream’s legacy of collaboration and innovation.

A New Entry-level Trailer

Nissan Design America Concept

In 2002, Airstream collaborated with Nissan Design America to conceptualize a new, entry-level travel trailer. This concept became part of the work leading up to the creation of the Basecamp that debuted in 2007 as an adventure-ready travel trailer with Airstream DNA. In 2017, Basecamp was reintroduced and quickly became one of Airstream's most popular models.

A Boundary-Pushing Sandbox Design

The Scout

Weaving together automotive, aeronautic, and naval inspired designs, the Scout was a sandbox for Airstream engineers to try out a variety of groundbreaking designs. Using composite materials and advanced manufacturing design, this unique travel trailer concept weighed in at around 2,000 pounds and featured non-traditional RV styling throughout.

A Fiberglass Prototype

The Wally Bee

Formed from two pieces of molded fiberglass, this prototype was developed by Wally Byam’s close friend, Marius Hansen. Nicknamed the “Wally Bee,” it was towed by Hansen on the Central American Caravan. It never entered production, but today it stands today as a perfect example of how Airstream has always sought to push boundaries. It's on display now in the Airstream Heritage Center.
