Details on General Multiplex Control Features and Monitoring
Lighting Control
The Multiplex System touchscreens control the LED lighting inside and outside Airstream touring coach models. Control individual lights throughout the interior, or toggle the “Light Master” switch to instantly turn all interior lighting on or off. The Light Master function has a memory feature, recalling which lights were on the next time you press Light Master ON. It also has a lock feature to prevent accidental changes.
Water Pump, Tank Heaters, and Air Conditioner
Multiplex controls in select Rangeline, Interstate, and Atlas gives owners the ability to operate key functions like the water pump for use when campground hookups aren’t available, tank heaters that help prevent freezing in cold weather, and climate controls.
Tank Monitoring
The multiplex control panel in most Airstream touring coaches gives owners a readout of tank levels in the coach’s fresh, grey, and waste tanks. Whether you’re boondocking far from the crowds or enjoying the luxury of full hookups, it’s important to keep an eye on tank levels no matter what kind of camping setup you have.
Advanced Window Shade Control
Coaches equipped with powered shades offer multiplex control, letting you raise and lower the shades depending on your needs. These shades feature a mechanical limit switch to prevent accidental changes due to power surges or outages. Even if the shades are manually pulled down, they will retain their pre-set limit stops. The panels allow for individual shade control as well as a master control button to raise or lower all shades simultaneously. Simply press the up or down arrow next to the shade you want to adjust, and the shade will move accordingly. If you press the arrow again before the shade reaches its limit, it will stop at its current position.

Energy Management System (EMS), Available when Equipped with Optional E1 Package
The Energy Management System (EMS) is a crucial function of touring coaches equipped with the optional E1 Package (available in Atlas and Interstate models) and can be managed through the Firefly Multiplex System. This system monitors the total current draw of the coach’s 120V AC power system. When multiple appliances are running, the EMS temporarily reduces power to certain devices, like the heating or hot water element, to prevent breaker tripping. This ensures a smooth and uninterrupted power supply throughout your coach.
Multiplex Bluetooth® App
The multiplex system in most Airstream touring coaches can be controlled wirelessly via Bluetooth® using the Vegatouch Mira app. This functionality allows you to adjust controls and keep tabs on systems from the comfort of your camp chair – no need to get up and go inside the RV.
