Ahhhh, fall. Just the mention of the word makes us want to drive into the crisp mountain air with some caramel cider in hand, taking in glimpses of spectacular orange and yellow forests. Don’t miss out on your chance to take your Airstream (or your tent and sleeping bags) out this season.
1. Cooler weather
No surprise here — cooler temperatures are a fantastic reason to go on a fall camping trip! While summer is great for cooling off in lakes, swimming holes, rivers, and beaches, fall is the perfect time to camp, hike, bike or fish. We can’t get enough of Snow Canyon State Park in Utah. Temperatures can dip into the 40s at night, but enjoy the beautiful desert views (and crisp 60 degree weather) during the day!
If you love a good, crisp, breeze, you’ll love how Airstream Touring Coaches include a rear and side screen, so you can let the fresh air flow all the way through your home on wheels all day/night long.
2. Release your inner chef
From campside nachos to peach cobbler, campfire food possibilities are endless! Quintessential camp dinners include hotdogs, hamburgers & s'mores, but why not try have a themed night? (Mexican, anyone?!)
An Airstream kitchen takes your campfire cooking game to a whole new level. You can store fresh produce in your refrigerator and use your galley kitchen counterspace to chop and prep before taking your ingredients out to the campfire. And you can use real dishware so you can avoid using disposables. Sustainable, clean, easy, cozy, and perfect.
3. Fall-themed activities
If kids are joining in on the camping adventure, plan a fall scavenger hunt, go apple picking, carve pumpkins or play a pick-up game of football! Fall is the perfect time for family-friendly activities throughout your camping trip. For the nights where the great outdoors are a little too chilly, have a family board game night inside your Airstream!
4. Affordable campsite rates
After Labor Day, campground prices have dropped and reservations open up. This means first come, first served! Take a cheaper trip this fall since the peak summer season has come and gone. If you’re thinking northeast U.S., check out the Blackwoods campground, located in the Acadia National Park in Maine. Reasonable prices, educational videos in an outdoor amphitheater and walking access to the ocean!
If you’re up for a bigger trip, check out the Fall Foliage Round Trip on Airstream Supply Company. We tour the fall beauty all across Vermont, pointing out our favorite campsites along the way.
5. The chance to recharge
Camp sleep is the best sleep. The best part about camping in an Airstream? The comfort of a real bed combined with the view of nature right out your (panoramic) windows is unmatched.
So, what are you waiting for? Fall officially starts Sept. 22 this year! Where will your fall adventures take you?
