The Airstream Classic Travel Trailer has been one of our most popular – and one of our most luxurious – models for many years. In fact, the name “Classic” goes back to 1979, and has been used throughout the years to designate Airstream’s top of the line units. Throughout the 1990's and 2000's, “Classic” was used in various model names, from Classic Excella to Classic Limited (and just plain Classic). No matter the model, the Classic name has always designated Airstream’s flagship model. Classic means first-class amenities, residential comforts, and a no-expense-spared approach to design.
While it’s true that the iconic exterior of Airstream’s riveted aluminum travel trailers look similar from model to model, it’s equally true that Airstream interiors are what set each model apart. With all the luxurious you would expect from a modern travel trailer, the new Comfort White décor options are now available. Doors and Drawers
To lighten and brighten the Classic on the inside, the newest interior boasts Shaker-style cabinet fronts made from imported European hardwood in a white finish. Showcasing a transitional feel, the cabinetry serves as a base for almost any style décor accents you desire. From craftsman to farmhouse or chic, these white cabinets open up the spacious feeling inside both the Classic 30 and Classic 33-foot models. Accented with contemporary, German imported, brass hardware, the knobs and pulls add an element of refinement.
Chic doesn’t stop with the cabinets. They’re topped with dark Corian countertops reminiscent of Van Gogh’s swirling Starry Night. Contrasting the white cabinets, these dark counters bring a sophistication and warmth to the space.
Flooring
The light and airy approach carries down to the floors. You’ll be tempted to take off your hiking boots before entering the Classic – it’s that nice. But function was not sacrificed for form: With a grasscloth look and a touch of shine, these woven vinyl floors are premium marine-grade quality.
Textiles
Sophisticated and refined, the look is carried into the sleeping quarters and living space. Crisp white linens are embellished with gray cord welting. Crushed velvet bed scarfs and accenting lumbar pillows are reminiscent of a four-star hotel. Seating in the dinette area, the wall-hugger reclining sofa, and the desk chair in the main living space all feature a high-end diamond quilting for a touch of style. A secret storage space in the desk chair is the perfect hiding place for your valuables.
We’ve brightened the interior while adding an element of luxury without sacrificing function. A vessel sink in the lavatory (33FB only), refined angular gooseneck faucets and a larger kitchen sink all enhance the 2020 Airstream Classic’s interior. After all, it’s more than just a travel trailer: The Classic is your home on wheels.
Smart Control Interior Control Panel Improvements
In 2018, Smart Control Technology became a standard feature in each Airstream Classic. Smart Control enables owners to monitor systems, control key features, and locate the travel trailer anywhere in the world. A year later in 2019, the Classic was recognized at RVX for its trailblazing innovation and took home the show's New Horizon Award. In pursuit of continuously enhancing the customer experience, the interior control panel has been upgraded from a 5-inch screen to a 7-inch touch screen with additional functionality. All monitoring and control can be done from the mobile app, but increasing the interior touch screen size makes it easier for owners to read and quickly interact with the most important features of the travel trailer.
Updated functionality puts more power in the hands of the user by adding a Favorites Screen, making it quicker and easier to enjoy life in the Classic. Simply swipe left and right on the home screen to access the Favorites options to manage specific interior and exterior lights, fans, A/C, the awning, and other popular features like the shades (33FB only). The new user interface incorporates the Classic exterior and interior images of the unique floor plan to make it seamless for the user to identify and interact with the systems they want to control.
