If you’re looking for ways to celebrate the occasion, we have some suggestions. Check out our list below, and be sure to tag us on social media if you try one of them – or if you’ve come up with your own party idea!
Make a party hat – for your Airstream
Nothing says “birthday” like a party hat, so doesn’t your Airstream deserve its own celebratory headwear? All it takes is a little papier-mâché know-how – and a lot of actual papier-mâché – to construct a giant birthday party hat you can perch atop the birthday boy or girl. Think of the photo ops! (Driving with the hat in place is not recommended.)
Go somewhere new
Is there someplace you’ve been dying to explore, but you just haven’t been able to find the right time to go? Well, here’s your excuse. Get ready for a birthday road trip! Pack up your Airstream and pay a visit to your dream destination. Your baby is all grown up, and you’ve got a year of ownership under your belt – you’ve earned this.
Do a cake smash
Okay, fine: if anything says “birthday” more than a party hat, it’s birthday cake. And the hallmark of any good first birthday party is a cake smash. Now, we know your Airstream can’t reach out and smash a cake with its hands. But you can smash a cake on your Airstream, which is pretty much the same thing.
Have a party…
…in your Airstream. Invite your nearest and dearest (and your Airstream’s Airstream friends, if they’re local), string up some lights, put out some snacks, and make a Champagne toast to the guest of honor. You might even want to share some memories about all the adventures you’ve taken together – and start dreaming about where you’ll head next.
Do a photo shoot
With a camera and a selfie stick, a tripod and remote, or a friend with some time to kill, you can mark your Airstream’s first birthday with a very special photo shoot. If you want to get crafty, you can make a “Happy 1st Birthday!” sign to hold up. Or, if you don’t want to get crafty, just hold up your finger to indicate “1 year old.” Even though there are only so many poses you can do with an inanimate object, we can pretty much guarantee you’ll still look back fondly on this.
