Aerodynamic design is built into the rounded corners and sleek aluminum shells of the Airstream DNA. With more owners looking to tow with electric vehicles and our continued emphasis on sustainable, environmentally-friendly travel, we undertook a landmark aerodynamics study in the summer of 2021 in an effort to better understand how we can continue improving and refining an already aerodynamic Airstream design.

A Series of Firsts
Airstream founder Wally Byam promised that an Airstream could take you as far as you wanted while letting you travel with all the comforts of home. He incorporated new technology where he could, invented and refined when the features he wanted didn't yet exist, and created the first fully self-contained travel trailer that didn't need external hookups.
